Day 2 – Morning Mayhem

An early rise, got a picnic ready and out the door at 04:35. A bus to Clovelly Beach to see our 1st sunrise.

Another early start
Where’s the sunrise
Dive into the day
There it is
Yes over there
Time for a swim
A beautiful location for a dip
That feels much better
Lovelly Beach, wheres the C gone
Better late than never

The sunrise didn’t quite materialise as expected but it was a beautiful swim and climb across the cliffs. What an amazing way to spend the morning and be back for 08:30.

Manly Beach

After getting a quick coffee, wash and making a packed lunch it was time for us to head off on the tram back to Circular Quay with Steph.

And they’re off
Front row on the ferry
Taking in the sites
Hide and seek
Time to relax
The resting Water Dragon
Time for a dip

So after getting to Manly Beach we decided to take a long stroll around to Shelly Beach for some swimming with all the keen snorkelers. The temperature had soared to 30⁰+ and it was a scorcher. Not put off after our swim we did a small hike and headed back to Circular Quay and on to Surry Hill.

Going Loco not in Acapulco

Once Benny was home we set off to meet Ronan in El Loco at the Excelsior across the road. The venue certainly lived up to its name as it was jam packed with cricket fans. It was so crazy on an absolute crazily busy night they had half the bar and tables closed. This unfortunately meant that after scoring the whole bar including the rooftop we had no success – a bit like the English cricket team 🤣

A lot of thirsty people

With Australia looking to have obliterated England at the cricket even with a couple of days to go, there were a lot of Aussie fans looking for an early celebratory pint and a lot of English looking to drown their sorrows before the inevitable.

Not deterred by the noise,  the lack of tables and the fact that we’d be heading nearer the cricket ground we made our way up the hill and found another heaving, rowdy venue. This time the Gods were on our side and up in the rooftop bar we found a spot to dine.  Staek ‘n’ chips was on special so for us and Benny that did nicely. Finally the man of mystery, Ronan, arrived and joined us for a drink. After grub and a good catch up,  like Jack and Jill we went back down the hill after our ale & water. However,  no-one fell down, the pub wasn’t The Crown,  so no-one (s)tumbled after.
