Good Day Australia

Off to Surry Hills

Straight off the plane 5/1/26 8:00. Jump on a train and we’re off again. Just made it to Central Station and with a short walk met Benny and Steph before he left for work.

No time like the present.

After a quick rest and freshen up it was off to see the famous Sydney sites.  As our legs had been couped up for so long on the plane it was time to stretch then out.

Hyde Park

A quick walk through the city and we were in greenery. Hyde Park had a lot to offer us including our 1st look at the dangerous wildlife.

Irresistible Ibis – The Bin Chicken

Hyde Park was full of delights.

The Cathedral
The Stained Window

What a view

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better we came out of The Botanical Gardens and on to the harbour walk.

What’s that I see?

Apart from lots of ferries, sailing boats and ribs tearing up the waterways, Sydney’s iconic Opera House stands loud & proud.

Singing in Sydney

Looking like a congregation of oversized nuns waiting for service to begin the buildings dominate the skyline.

Up & Over

But wait,  around the next corner if The Sydney Harbour Bridge looming over even the Opera House. Miniature figures can be seen scurrying along the top for a cheap thrill.

Can’t Escape Work

All was going so well until we looked left and there docked in the harbour is Celebrity Edge, sister ship of the Celebrity Apex a ship we know only too well from working on it.  Still,  we’re on our jollies so we turned and didn’t give it another thought as we walked v the few miles back to Surry Hill and Steph.

Welcome Back

Steph made a beautiful chicken and rice dish once Benny was back. After a lovely catch up it was time for an early night.
